Description: More than a premier holiday event, Festival of Trees is the annual fundraiser for Quad City Arts, a local not-for-profit arts agency. It takes more than 3,500 volunteers, 650 designers, 3,500 CenterStage entertainers, and 150 Sponsors to make Festival of Trees a time-honored and beloved Quad Cities' tradition. Festival of Trees is recognized as one of the top events of its kind in North America! More than 100,000 people experience Festival annually, making it one of the largest festivals in the Quad Cities. In 1986, Festival of Trees was created to bring the community together and provide artistic expression. Over the past 27 years, Festival has evolved from a weekend-long event in one room, into an 11-day event utilizing the entire 70,000 square foot RiverCenter complex in Downtown Davenport. The event features over 100 designer trees, gingerbread village, holiday room designs, a North Pole for the kids, 14 special events, and the largest helium balloon parade in the Midwest. The parade takes place the 2nd day of the festival throughout the streets of downtown Davenport and features helium balloons towering 3 stories high, clowns, marching bands, and an appearance by Santa.

    Description: For over thirty years, volunteers of the Mississippi Valley Blues Society have been organizing and presenting the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival. The three-day festival is held each year in picturesque LeClaire Park on the banks of the Mississippi River in Davenport, Iowa. Through the care and attention paid in selecting performers to represent a variety of blues styles and the down-home non-commercial atmosphere of the fest, over the years the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival has become recognized as one of the finest blues fests in the country. We hope you\'ll join us for a great weekend of blues music!

    Event: GREAT RIVER TUG FEST

    Description: The annual Great River Tug Fest! This is the only tug-of-war across the mighty Mississippi River. On Saturday at 12:30 pm, barge traffic, pleasure boats and paddleboats yield the right of way to a 2,400 foot, 680 pound rope that stretches between LeClaire, Iowa and Port Byron, Illinois. Eleven teams from each side are formed and the side with the most winning teams takes the Alabaster Eagle trophy for that year. A family weekend event filled with carnival rides, live entertainment, a huge parade, scenic 5k run/walk, food, arts and craft vendors and one of the largest fireworks displays (Fri. night) in the two state area.

The event is held at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island, Illinois and Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, Iowa. Live entertainment provided by the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival. If the fireworks are cancelled due to weather, they will be shot off instead on the 4th of July at 9:30 p.m. (weather permitting) however, on the 4th, there will be no programming in Modern Woodmen Park or Schwiebert Riverfront Park, and LeClaire Park in Davenport will be a ticketed area for the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival.
