Description: Bring your lawn chairs and come out to enjoy this one of a kind festival. Kites of all shapes and sizes fill the skies at this festival, the only Kite Festival in the state of Louisiana. This unique festival combines professional kite flyers from all over the country who come to enjoy performing with exotic kites and do kite ballets in the skies over West Baton Rouge. 20,000 people annually attend this festival held in April of each year. This family friendly event includes kite making, kite design and many fun events for the children. This is a free event to the public.

Event: OLDIES BUT GOODIES FEST

Description: On Saturday cooks from all over the South compete for top Barbeque honors at this IBCA State Championship BBQ. Teams compete for $6600 in prize money, awards, trophies and certificates. BBQ plates are sold by the Dream Day foundation to benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital. On Sunday come and enjoy great 50's, 60's & 70's music, hula hoop, jitterbug and twist contests. Lil Bayou Band on stage from 11 am to 2 pm then Foret Tradition will be performing from 2:30 - 5:30 pm. Antique car show and Poker Fun Run round out this two day event. This fun event is held on the grounds of the West Baton Rouge Tourist Information & Conference Center. Enjoy music all day both days. Come and spend the weekend with us and enjoy great food, great fun and great music. The fun starts at noon and ends at 6:00 p.m. each day.

Description: Get into the Holiday Spirit at the Reflections of the Season Christmas Light Display. This walk or drive through display is open to the public Thursdays through Sundays. For just $1.00 per person drive through the grounds of the West Baton Rouge Conference Center and view the spectacular lights. Thursday through Sunday nights come inside to visit "Trevor" the talking singing reindeer. Walk through the holiday decorated rooms. Enjoy carnival rides for the children or buy those last minute gifts from our crafters. Take your holiday pictures with Santa and his elves. Special activities: Cuddle up in a blanket next to your friends and loved ones and take a ride through the lights in a mule or horse drawn wagon for $2.00 per person. Snow Patch is $4.00 per person. Bring your family and friends and make West Baton Rouge and "Reflections of the Season" part of your Christmas tradition.
